The Stelvio Pass is one of the most iconic mountain passes in the world. Located in the Italian Alps, it connects the Valtellina with the upper Adige valley and Vinschgau.
This is an amazing pass to drive but last few years its been very busy. Everyone seems to want to drive this. Most people will drive up from the east side but do not know the other side. You also might want to combine this with a step into Switserland by driving down the much quieter Umbrail Pass.
You can drive in the other way but in this case i dont recommend this. Its more fun going up then going down. You will end up having to let others pass often.
